London's Delftware Industry

Tin-glazed or 'delftware' manufacture began in London at Aldgate (from c 1570), and ceased at Glasshouse Street in Lambeth in 1846. This title combines documentary evidence with that from archaeological interventions (1979-92) at five tin-glazed ware production sites on the south bank of the Thames.
