Evacuation

During WWII, enemy bombers dropped thousands of bombs on British towns and cities which became very dangerous places, as everyone was at risk during an air raid. One way to protect people was to provide air-raid shelters. Another was to move them somewhere safer. This was called 'evacuation' and children were the largest group of evacuees.
